About Michael

Press bio: short version

Michael Ferreri is an acclaimed pianist, music director, vocal coach, and singer known for his innovative blend of cabaret, musical theatre, and jazz traditions. A recognized ambassador of the Great American Songbook, he has performed extensively across the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and New Zealand.


Ferreri’s career includes appearances at the Edinburgh and Prague Fringe Festivals, the Shandelee Music Festival, the World Economic Forum, and the maiden Cunard voyage of the Queen Anne. He has collaborated with or performed for Angela Lansbury, Gregg Edelman, Beth Fowler, Julie Wilson, Sally Struthers, Andrea McArdle, and other celebrated artists. He has also been invited to perform privately for notable dignitaries, including HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Dr. Anthony S. Fauci.


Ferreri’s transatlantic presence spans premier venues such as Birdland, Feinstein’s, Town Hall, Crazy Coqs, the Leicester Square Theatre, and the Apollo Theatre. He has served as a collaborative pianist for NYU/Tisch and as Music Director for The Acting Company and the New York Theatre Ballet. His recordings include Double Standards, At Your Request, and Sweet Dreams.


Ferreri currently lives and works in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; New York City; and London.

Michael Ferreri is an acclaimed pianist, music director, vocal coach, and singer whose career spans several decades. Renowned for his innovative artistry, Ferreri seamlessly blends cabaret, musical theatre, and jazz traditions, earning distinction as a leading ambassador of the Great American Songbook.


Ferreri’s work has reached broad and diverse audiences across the globe. He has appeared in hundreds of cabarets, concert halls, and theatres; performed  at international festivals and forums; and brought his music to stages on land and at sea. His worldwide engagements include concerts, galas, benefits, and tributes throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Ireland,  Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and New Zealand.


His  extensive credits include performances at the Edinburgh and Prague Fringe Festivals, the Shandelee Music Festival, and the World Economic  Forum, as well as the inaugural Cunard  voyage of the Queen Anne. Ferreri has collaborated with or performed for Angela Lansbury, David Pellegrene, Gregg Edelman, Beth Fowler, Julie Wilson, Sally Struthers, and Andrea McArdle. He has also been honored to play privately for distinguished figures  such as HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; HRH Prince Vittorio  Emanuele of Savoy; HRH Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy; and Dr. Anthony S.  Fauci—reflecting the high regard in which his artistry is held.


Ferreri  maintains a strong transatlantic presence, having performed in many of  the most distinguished venues in New York and London.

  • New  York: The Algonquin, Birdland, Don’t Tell Mama, Feinstein’s, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Metropolitan Room, Tavern on the Green, and Town Hall.
  • London:  Apollo Theatre, Crazy Coqs, Leicester Square Theatre, St. James Theatre, The Pheasantry, Charing Cross Theatre, and Jermyn Street  Theatre.


In the United States, Ferreri has served as a collaborative pianist for New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and as Music Director in Manhattan for both The Acting Company and the New York Theatre Ballet. He has also directed music for numerous U.S. theatre productions, including June Moon, Second Threshold, Fallen Angels, The Play’s the Thing, Into the Woods, Godspell, and The Happy End.


Ferreri’s recordings include Double Standards (with John Carden and Tony Oakley), John Bucchino (John Bucchino), At Your Request (David Pellegrene), and Sweet Dreams (Michael Ferreri).


He currently lives and works regularly in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; New York City; and London, England.
